The project is more suitable than any other to address young people regionally and supra-regionally and to win them for cooperation. This is the chance for the youth of the divided city to get involved and actively participate with their possibilities and ideas in connection with institutions and associations.

The activities of the youth of both cities are supported and accompanied by both the Polish foundation and the sponsoring association. The first concrete tasks for the near future could be the following thematic complexes with the cooperation of the institutions:

European School and the Guben Grammar School and the Gubin Lyceum

• Painting competition (motif: main church)

• Music competition

• Volunteers at the archaeological work

• Archive work on the history of the city and main church

• Research on the work of personalities at the city and main church

• Ideas competition on urban development and cooperation

Youth and sports clubs, such as Fabrik e.V., NoBudget, etc.

• Youth camp, together with the „Sühnezeichen“ campaign with the support of the Protestant Church

• Disco evenings and charity events in aid of the reconstruction effort

• Pro Gubin / Pro Guben

Guben Education Association

• Manufacture of organisational supplies for the staging of events, e.g. benches, barrier fences, advertising boards, information boards, etc.

German-Polish Youth Office

• Tandem language courses

• Photo exhibition on the theme: „Getting to know your neighbours“

• German-Polish Youth Forum on Current Political Issues

Guben and Gubin Music School

• Benefit concerts, also with the support of other local orchestras as well as the twin towns of Laatzen, Paks, Citadella
